The Conley Alto Cloud Chamber is a fully self contained data center cabinet.

Chamber:

The unit is 88″h x 37″w x 38″d designed to NEMA 4 specifications; its constructed of roll cold 14 gauge steel. The height includes the 2″ mounting blocks on the top (used to attach the awning) and the levelers and blocks on the bottom of the unit. There is an optional 6″ base high base available.

The Chamber is divided into two major sections: chamber and cable manager/electrical.

The chamber has two gasket sealed doors: front and back . Each door has an electrical /mechanical stainless steel swing handle locks with an IP65 rating. A rod/cam arrangement provides a three point compression system. The swing handle has a covered key lock that activated the mechanical over ride.

The multi-point compression rod system is attached to the front and rear doors which creates a tight and secure chamber. All egresses into the chamber: cable access, doors and panels, piping and conduit openings have glands and/or grommets; providing a totally sealed chamber.

The back door of the chamber has a mounting plate that permits the security panel to be mounted. The adjustable numbered equipment rail supplies 45 full U’s of rack mount space. The chamber also has two full U’s located above the usable U’s dedicated for the chamber’s controller, fire suppression and wiring.

The chamber power distribution system consists of two 120V – 30A isolated grounded receptacles. 1 single duplex 120v – 20 amps isolated grounded receptacles are also included. The power is connected to a termination strip located in the electrical section of the cable manager. The chamber and doors have grounding studs and are grounded.

The Conley Alto Chamber has a unique airflow system for cooling; a side plenum that separate the cold air supply from the hot air exhaust. The design provides cold air to the front of the equipment while removing it from the rear. This closed airflow is highly efficient. A strategically located thermo sensor monitors the temperature of the equipment’s intake air.

The cable manager section has three compartments: cable closet, low voltage and high voltage.

The cable closet has a separate door accessible from the front of the Alto Chamber. The closet is 84″ h x 12″w x 26″ d.

Within the closet located on the side wall, next to the chamber compartment are three series of 5 – 1″ cable glands. The glands are position to allow the cables to enter the chamber at the 6U,10U and 14U position of the useable U’s.

It is recommended if more than one cable is threaded through a gland that a material similar to electrical wire shrink wrap be wrapped around the cables to create a total seal. Three 3″ diameter aluminum cable support units that are 11.5″ long provides the proper support and radius for leading the cables to the glands.

The cable closet locking system consists of EKMA 1000- U770 padlock handle with a IP 65 rating. It also incorporates the rod/cam arrangement that provides a three point compression system creating a NEMA 4 opening.

The electrical section is accessible via the back. The locking system is the same as cable closet. This section has two compartment. Each compartment has a screw on cover with the proper warning labels affixed.

The top area is dedicated for low voltage. This space houses the terminal blocks, relays that control the functions of the chamber and a 6 outlet 120V – 20Amp power strip. The lower area is for the high voltage. This area is where the power feed from the utility will terminate. The compartment has a two terminal strips – one for the power the other for the ground.

The lighting system consists of 2 – 2′ section of LED lights at each chamber door. 1 – 2′ section in the cable chamber and electrical compartments. The Lights are activated by a switch placed on each section doors The area where the switches are also has space for the security company’s sensors.

The air conditioner wiring is installed in flexible conduit. The wiring is designed to accept all five models of air conditioners.

The chamber is designed to accept the full range of 28 different size and style air-conditions. The air conditioner(s) can be upgraded, in the field, at anytime – allowing the end user to increase the cooling when and if it’s needed.

The awning is constructed of aluminum . It suspends off the chamber with 4 angles that secures to the mounting blocks; 3/8″ x 3″ bolts secure the awning to the chamber. Two post, from awning to ground, supplies support for snow load requirements. The awning is 110″x 78″ and slopes forward to allow rain runoff.

There are 4′ of LED lighting along the interior perimeter on three sides of the awning. An access hole is provide with gland that allow an optional  yellow (amber) color, Xenon 24 VDC flashing (strobe) ,75mm high beacons that activates when the doors of the chambers are open, the temperature within the chamber excess set limits and when the fire suppression is activated.

The awning has A flat surface located above the cable manager is design to accept cable conduits. Knock outs are not included.

Fire suppression is accomplished by Stat-X’s aerosol potassium agent fire suppression with an electrical active that connect to a controller and 2 fire and smoke detectors – located only in the chamber section. The sensor is attached that notifies if the fire suppression was released.
